LMA’s support initiative in numbers

This is a powerful example of what industrial partnerships in Guinea should look like. On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at its industrial site in Tombolia, Les Moulins d’Afrique (LMA), a subsidiary of the SONOCO Group, gathered its distributors not to sell products but to equip them.
The initiative directly addresses one of the biggest challenges facing SMEs in Guinea: logistics.
In the food industry, distribution is everything. Guinean bakers play a critical role in feeding the population, but many continue to face supply chain difficulties. To improve efficiency within this ecosystem, LMA decided to make a major investment in its partner network.
Vehicles designed to accelerate business growth
The company organized a large-scale equipment distribution ceremony aimed at rewarding and supporting its partners.
Nearly 60 tricycles were delivered to retail distribution points to strengthen local delivery capacity and ensure that bakeries maintain continuous access to AGB flour supplies.
For the highest-performing distributors, the rewards went even further: four pickup trucks were awarded to the winners of the AGB 2024–2025 commercial campaign.
According to Alpha Ibrahima Diallo, Commercial and Marketing Director at LMA, these vehicles represent both “a reward and a responsibility” for distributors who serve as the direct connection between the company and local bakers.
Growth that benefits the entire ecosystem
Beyond logistics equipment, the ceremony also carried a strong social dimension.
Ahead of the Tabaski celebration, the company donated 19 rams and one bull to its distributors as well as to the Bakers’ Association.
As emphasized by Soumah Aminata Rabi Condé, Director of Communication and CSR at SONOCO Group, the company’s philosophy is clear:
“The sustainable development of a company first depends on the development of its ecosystem. No growth can be sustainable if it is not shared.”
This vision reflects a broader model of inclusive economic development increasingly promoted within Guinea’s private sector.
A model praised by public authorities
Supporting the private sector also means strengthening the national economy.
Present during the ceremony, François Massouma, representative of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and SMEs, praised the initiative for reinforcing local industry and encouraging stronger collaboration between major industrial players and smaller distributors.
This partnership between a major flour producer and its local reseller network demonstrates that the future of “Made in Guinea” depends on cooperation, logistics innovation, and shared prosperity.

Ce que cette actualité signifie pour vous
- For bakery operators:
One of the biggest challenges in the bakery business is often transporting flour to production sites. By becoming a strong partner within the LMA (AGB flour) network, distributors gain more than just products — they may also receive transport equipment such as tricycles to expand their delivery capabilities. - For SMEs and wholesalers:
The SONOCO Group’s strategy offers a real business lesson: companies do not grow alone. If you are a wholesaler or supplier, one of the best ways to retain resellers is by reinvesting part of your profits into improving their working tools. This is how resilient value chains and shared growth are built.
